Born in New Zealand and migrating to Australia in 1980,I learnt traditional portraiture from my dad in my late teens, which soon turned into a love of everything creative.
Starting out with graphite portraits I later taught myself to use oils, but with a growing family came a lack of creative space, which steered me towards a more compact form of art…digital.
After many years bouncing between digital and traditional I found the two had merged for me,and a lot of my oil pieces were created using similar techniques I used digitally.Multiple colour glaze layers gave birth to large illustrative stories on canvas.
