What is on offer?

The Prime Ministers Avenue is a collection of busts of the Prime Ministers of Australia which is located within the City of Ballarat’s Botanical Gardens. The bronze portraits are mounted on polished granite pedestals. The walk comprises of 27 Prime Ministers and is a significant tourist attraction for Ballarat and an important part of the history of democracy in Australia.

An expression of Interest is now open for the sculptor who will create the next Prime Minister of Australia- The Hon Tony Abbott MP.
If you are interested in being a part of this significant part of history please send up to 5 images of recent portrait sculpture examples and a current CV. By 30th Sep 2015
Selection of the sculptor will be made by The City of Ballarat’s Public Art Committee. The chosen Sculptor will be commissioned to meet with the Prime Minister for research purposes and then create the bust cast into bronze.

A total budget of 25,000 plus GST is being offered for this commission. This includes travel accommodation, (Canberra), artist’s fee, bronze casting and delivery to Ballarat. The artist will also be expected to attend the launch in Ballarat.
