Lorne Sculpture Biennale 2018 call out for Curator

The Curator of the Lorne Sculpture Biennale oversees a biennale program of sculpture and complementary installation and performance art projects in the iconic regional Victorian town of Lorne. The curator works to deliver a three-week exhibition incorporating a 2km-long large public sculpture trail on the coastal foreshore, an indoor exhibition, installations and various ancillary arts and educational programs.

The curator has responsibility for overall creative direction, the selection of works and the co-ordination and implementation of this major arts event. This includes the management of budgets, schedules and timelines.

It is a key requirement that the candidate demonstrates the vision and ability to shape the future of the program for the 2018 biennale. A proven, successful curatorial background, experience specifically working with sculptors and a dedicated interest in the medium are essential. The successful candidate will work part-time, commencing in April following the 2016 biennale and their term will continue until the conclusion of the 2018 event. Pay scale $50,000 for 2 year engagement.
