FUNDING: South West Community Foundation grants now open

What is on offer?

The South West Community Foundation is keen to support and enrich the lives of people in south west Victoria therefore, if you have a project that will contribute to this objective, they invite you to contact the Executive Officer, Karen Norris on 0437 756 082 who can assist.

Applications will be received from Monday 30 January 2017 to Monday 6 March 2017. Grants will be made in amounts up to $5,000.

Application forms and conditions of entry are available HERE.

What can be funded?

Not-for-profit community based organisations can apply for funds to support projects and activities that offer clear public benefit contributing to their social and community welfare, economic, environmental, health, education or cultural development.

To be eligible, projects must be for a charitable purpose (address a need in the community). If your organisation does not have Tax Concession Charity (TCC) we will contact you for further information. Please have a copy of your constitution, rules, or relevant statute ready to supply.

Organisations must have an ABN or Incorporation Certificate.

Requests that supplement funds from other sources will be considered.

Discrete once off projects are preferred rather than on-going activities.

What cannot be funded?

Operational and administration costs cannot be funded (e.g. rent, utilities, regular wages, loan repayments).

Previous grant recipients who have not completed final report requirements are not eligible.

The encouragement or advancement of sport, recreation and social activities is not considered a charitable activity by the Australian Taxation Office. Applications from sporting organisations need to clearly demonstrate a benefit to the wider community. If in doubt, please contact South West Community Foundation to discuss your project idea.

Political or religious activities cannot be funded.
