Who is Mignon?

25 November 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

15/30

Who is Mignon? A song recital exploring female identity in German art-song.

Louise Keast is an opera singer who recently moved to Warrnambool from Canberra. She is thrilled to be performing her first song recital since moving to South West Victoria, and would like to invite all users of the South West ArtsAtlas to the concert!

The concert is called “Who is Mignon?” and will include songs by Franz Schubert, Hugo Wolf, W.A. Mozart and Robert Schumann that touch on themes of love, heartbreak, independence and solitude. The performance will last approximately one hour, and as all the songs will be performed in German, the translations of the texts will be projected for the audience to see, alongside portraits and images that illustrate the characters stories.

Louise Keast (soprano) will be joined by several close friends to perform this concert- Shikara Ringdahl (Brisbane-based Mezzo-Soprano) and Sine Winther (Melbourne-based Pianist). Shikara, Sine and Louise all met during their undergraduate music studies at the Brisbane Conservatorium of Music, and this will be the first time that the three musicians will have performed together!

Local talented violinist Matthew Lim will also perform as a guest artist for this concert! Matthew, Sine and Louise will form an instrumental ensemble for the final song in the concert program- a piano trio arrangement of “None but the Lonely Heart” by Pyotr Tchaikovsky.

The concert is on Saturday 25 November at 7 pm at Mozart Hall (Gilles Street, Warrnambool). A complimentary supper will be provided after the concert!

The concert is ticketed, and pre-booked tickets are available via www.trybooking.com/RPGM or at the door.

Adult $30 \ Under 30 $15
