Description of Venue: SCOPE is a contemporary art gallery located in the seaside city of Warrnambool. Founded in 2009 the gallery schedules curated exhibitions throughout the year by selected artists and also features the paintings of owner Liza McCosh alongside sculptural works and prints by other Victorian artists. The gallery has six exhibiting spaces which can be hired by artists through an application process. Since its inception SCOPE has developed and supported a national biennial art award, Art Concerning Environment. The non-acquisitive Award has a cash prize of $5000 and attracts renowned artists from across Australia. The next Award is scheduled for 2018. SCOPE is easily located at 38 Kelp Street, one block north of the Tourist Information Centre and two blocks East of Warrnambool's main Liebig Street and the Warrnambool Art Gallery. The Gallery is open Thursday to Sunday 12 noon to 5pm (winter hours apply) and at other times by appointment. FREE entry
