What is on offer?
The annual Mortlake Art Show is managed by the Mortlake Visual Arts Group (MVAG), who operate under the auspices of the Mortlake Community Development Committee Inc (MCDC).
Mortlake is located in the Western District of Victoria, Australia on the Hamilton Highway, 50 kilometres north-east of Warrnambool. Mortlake is situated at the foot of Mount Shadwell, formed 25,000 years ago. Self-proclaimed as the Olivine Capital of Australia, it is also known for its bluestone buildings, with several fine examples dating back to the 1850s visible from the Hamilton Highway.
The theme for the 2017 Mortlake Art Show is
‘Spirit of the Western District’
The theme is broad and can encompass art subjects including people, places, animals, and landscapes.
It provides opportunities for artists to delve in to the history, culture and lifestyle of the Western District of Victoria.
