Ian Brown

Ian Brown is an emerging textile artist having recently completed¬† Cert. III in Visual Arts under the tutelage of Sue Ferrari. Having worked with wood for many years, is now embracing all things in the touchy feely world of Textiles. Previously working within the world of feathers, with their natural beauty and using them to create anything from large feathered headdresses to small feathered brooches, has now moved on to creating works using Kelp. 3 dimensional work in Kelp include the ‘Mermaid’ scarf ( exhibited at the Geelong Scarf Festival 2015), and a variety of Kelp Masks.

Having lived and raised his family in the Otway Ranges for over thirty years, he continually finds inspiration for his art in the beauty of the natural world around him.
