Caroline Healey

Caroline Healey is an artist from the UK who, after two years of worldwide travels, found home on the romantically rugged Shipwreck Coast in 2014. Heavily influenced by her immediate surroundings, Caroline’s work illustrates her journeys both literal and personal, carrying the viewer on a vividly colourful path over Bolivian hills, Hawaiian waves, Scottish highlands and Warrnambool’s windy coast.

Her earlier style is brightly coloured and graphic using watercolour or acrylic and a black delineating pen. Her later style uses acrylic more freely, with a charming slapdash approach which suits the unsettled climes of her new home. This stylistic journey is very much in progress, motivated by her art class teacher (Glenn Morgan), her artsy community and her wish to send ever more interesting pictorial postcards back to friends and family in the UK.

Like many artists, Caroline is compelled to paint. Luckily her teacher assistant job finishes at 3pm each day enabling her to feed this compulsion.

A compulsion to travel led Caroline to Australia and a compulsion to paint made her right at home in Warrnambool.
FIRST SOLO EXHIBITION! 2 - 27 November at The Artery. Opening night 5th November, 6pm. All welcome.
